Used to be Haru, which had great food and good service. Atmosphere is the same, and food seems still good but the service was really inexperienced.

Friendly family vibe. Owners and the staff extremely accommodating... and was advised you no longer need to book in advance for Korean BBQ. Prices are very reasonable and ambience very family friendly... definitely worth checking out!

A wonderful place to eat if you are a fan of sushi, dim sum, ramen or, especially, Korean Barbecue. Having travelled to South-East Asia many times and eaten plenty of Asian barbeque there, I can surely say that Sonamu's Korean Barbecue holds up. This fun and novel dining experience did not disappoint. The prices are quite high and could be considered steep for a local restaurant in this area, and the atmosphere can be lacking during the day as it is usually rather empty. However, at night the restaurant is normally close to full and absolutely lightens up.

The Dong Po Rou is to die for. I’ve gotten it at least four times and it is sweet, tender, moist and delicious! Also, surprisingly filling! It is worth the price. Try it at least once! The Korean Kimchi Soup is also deliciously spicy as well as a good price. It filled me up almost completely, but I’d recommend getting something with it to be 100% satiated. Great staff and spacious, clean environment. SONAMU is now my go-to when I want to spoil myself.

Really good Korean bbq with great prices!! The portion sizes weren't too big, but the food was really filling, I'll definitely go again!!!

Bibimbap is slightly overpriced and there is a room for an improvement. Also should add vegetarian bibimbap for cheaper price. It was still nice and enjoyed the food overall.

SONAMU opened fairly recently - along Rondebosch Main Road. We popped in for lunch. Decor is modern and very clean with inside and covered outside seating. They offer Korean food as well as Thai, Japanese and Sushi. The Korean fried chicken was excellent. We also tried their Phad Thai chicken - it was delicious even though it didn't look appealing. We also enjoy broths so we tried the Doenjang soup. Portion sizes are generous and prices seemed reasonable compared to other Korean restaurants. Service was friendly and they allowed us to bring our little dog in to sit on the open section.
